Surfing... Or swimming

I walk in, my surf board ready. I smiled. "The waves are perfect!" i went in and started surfing.

John walked out onto the beach and looked around for something to do.

I was having fun. I paddled half way to the shore when i say a kid. "Hi!" i yelled at him from my surf board.

John looked up and saw the girl saying hi to him. He didn't feel like talking sohe just waved his hand at her.

I smiled. "Hey come in, the waves are sweet man!"

John shook his head no because he wasn't really in the mood for swimming. Actually now that he thought about it, he didn't know what he was in the mood for.

I paddled to the shore, putting my board on the sand. "Hi, im Lilyani." i said, a little bit of my Hawaiian accent slipping.

"Cool."John said and then layed back in the sand. He was really bored and wasn't sure what he wanted to do right now.

I smile. I see the moonlight and make a ball of light.

"Nice..I can do the same thing. Only it's stroger when the sun is out."He said and made his hand create a beam of light that shot into the sky.

"I've also got heat and fire resitance, so I can't be burned."He added as he made the light fad away.

I laugh. "I dont hide it. I miss Hawaii... I miss mom and dad and my little sister."

"...I...wish I had someone back home to miss...."John says as his head starts to droop down to the sand. He still hasn't figured out what killed his mother three years ago and he is starting to doubt whether he ever will or not.

I looked at him, about to say something when the moonlight hit my hair. It sparkled, as if it had stars in it.
